Edimax EW-7206PDg (a silly experience of me)

after several sleepless nights and couple of cool lemonade and all, I finally succeeded in installing two EW-7206PDg to become a P2P Bridge.

Well, I know for some people whom experts on these stuff, there’s nothing special in it. But for me, it is, and it feels damn good!

Here’s what I did:

I’m setting usual stuff like the password, management IPs, and several security goons (hiding SSID, making particular MACs, and setting the channels)

Here’s the tricky stuff: I almost ended up banging my head to walls on setting the nature of these shit. Should I go with the AP – Universal Repeaters, Station AdHoc-Station AdHoc, AP – AP with WDS, or AP PointToMultipoint – AP PointToMultipoint ?
But, after 3 fuckin’ hours resetting over and over, here’s what I did: I set both to AP PointToPoint and hope that it would connect my proxy to the clients down there (I set the first AP on the 2nd floor and the second one goes to the 1st floor). Then, BAM! THEY WERE CONNECTED! and that’s the first time I use 2 APs to connect each others..

hehehe.. there’s always a first time for everything.. just like learning to ride a bicycle, once you can get the straight lines then you’re off to the curvy lines.

ps: one thing though.. I’m still curious on Universal Repeaters mode. From what I read on the manual, it seems like a fun scheme to make. Better get to it, soon! (see image below)
